Field Path Notation
Field path notation is a syntax used to reference information in a Sintelix project so that the information can be used in a configuration. Information that can be referenced via field path notation include:
- Document Properties
- Document Tags
- Text Reference features
- Network Node fields
Field path notation is used in the following configurations:
- Network Creation
- Network Table Views
- Multifile Network Export
- Network Field Selections
As Field Path Notations are frequently used in Network Creation configuration and Network Table Views configuration, here is an example that details the use of Field Path Notation in creating Node fields and Link fields:
In a Network, Nodes and Links have fields which provide descriptive information about the fields. For example, a Person node could have fields such as Name and Date of Birth (DOB) which in the Network Creation configuration, as displayed in the following screenshot, can be defined to fetch the source of the value:
When the network is created, the field name as defined in the above screenshot, is displayed in the Fields section of a node as shown in the following screenshot:
