Structured Data Source
What is it?
A Structured Data Source contains information that is organised based on some pre-defined logic and structural rules.
A Structured Data Source can be a:
-
database, for example, MySQL, or
-
a file containing structured data, for example, excel, CSV, JSON, etc.
Ingest data
You can ingest data directly from a database into a Sintelix collection and create Sintelix documents.
To ingest structured data, you select the From Data Source tab in the Collections > Add Documents pane.
In the From Data Source tab, you select the required Configuration (which defines how a connected datasource is converted into Sintelix documents).
Requirements
Before you can ingest data from a Structured Data Source, the following are required:
-
Data Source Connectors need to be included in your licence
-
a data source connector needs to be installed for the type of data source and the operating system
-
a data source definition needs to be defined by a user with Admin rights to create the connection between Sintelix and the data source
-
a data source connector configuration to be defined in Configurations to determine how the data source tables and/or queries are mapped into Sintelix Documents.
Check installation status
To check if Structured Data Source Connectors have been licensed and installed:
-
Select Status > System Overview
-
If the Data Source Connector has a green tick in Activated Capabilities, then it is licensed.
-
If any of the Data Source Connectors listed have a green tick, then it has been installed. For example:
