Define a Data Source Connection

Ingest Structured Data

You can ingest data directly from a Structured Data Source into a Sintelix collection and create Sintelix documents.

Data Source Security

You can assign security settings to restrict access to a Data Source.

  • privately, so that only the user that defines it can use it .
  • globally, so that any Sintelix user with sufficient permissions can use it .
Define a Data Source Connection

Do the following to define a Data Source Connection:

  1. Select Admin > Data Source Definition tab

  2. Click Create a Datasource

  3. In the Create a new Data Source Definition dialog, fill the following details:

    • Database Type - Click the dropdown to select a database type

    • Datasource Name - Enter a unique name for your data source.

    • Database - Enter the name of the database you want to connect to

    • URL - Enter the URL of the database

    • User name - Enter the user name of the database

    • Password - Enter the password assigned for the database

      You will be prompted to enter a password whenever you edit a datasource.

    • Access Security - (Optional)

      Do the following:

      1. Click No additional security

      2. In the Edit Security Metadata dialog, click the add icon to add users or groups

      3. Click Apply.

        You can remove the added user clicking the remove icon against them.
