Timeline Templates

What is it?

The Timeline Templates allow you to save and load timeline templates.

A Timeline Template allows you to have pre-selected Node Types, e.g. *all the Event, *all the Document, etc.

Template buttons and options

On the Timeline Graph are two buttons used to manage Timeline Templates.

The Template dropdown displays the name of the currently selected template.

Clicking on the dropdown displays a list of the templates available for selection.

Select a template name to apply it to the current graph view.

The Template menu allows to:

  • Update the current template based on the Timeline Graph selections

  • Create a new template based on the current Timeline Graph selections

  • Go to Configurations to manage Network Timeline Views where you can rename, copy, import, export and delete Timeline Templates (See Configure Network Timeline Views).

  • Set Default Timeline View in Ontology by opening the Ontology Configuration in a new window. You can assign a default view to an entity node, so when you create a new timeline based on the entity type added to the timeline the view assigned as the default is displayed.

Select a Timeline Template
  1. Select the Template Dropdown

    Result: The Timeline Templates available are listed:

  2. Select the template required.

    Result: The Timeline Graph is updated based on the template selected.

Create or Update a Timeline Template
  1. Select the Node Types you want included in your template.

    1. Select the Select Node Types option

      Result: The Select Node Types dialog is displayed:

    2. Choose the node types you want to include in the template, by selecting and unselected the node types.

    3. Select Apply

  2. Select the Templates dropdown menu .

    Result: The Template Menu options are displayed.

  3. To save the changes to the current template, select Save Template

  4. To create a new Timeline Template, select Save Template As
