System Logs

As an administrator you can view the document audit and system logs in the System Logs tab.

Document audit must be enabled in order to view the document audit log folder. Go to Audit Log Settings for more information.

 

View Log Files in Sintelix

To view System Logs and Document Audit Logs using the Sintelix interface,

  1. Log in to Sintelix as an administrator.
  2. Select Admin > System Logs.
  3. Select the log file you want to view.
  4. Optionally, Once the log is open, there is the option to download the log by selecting Download :

 

Access Log Files on the Server

To view System Logs and Document Audit Logs on the server,

  1. Go to the <Sintelix database directory> The directory in which the Sintelix database is stored, for example, C:\Users\Documents\Sintelix database..
  2. Use a text editor to open a log file, or copy the log files (if required).

 

Available Sintelix Log Files

Audit and system logs created by Sintelix have the following names:

app

Errors and log entries generated by Sintelix App configurations.

auth

All log in, log out and password change events for users.

audit

Records user actions that modify data, such as adding or removing projects and collections, changing networks A container that stores information in nodes and links. See Nodes and Links topic for more information, configurations, or editing text.

This log does not record document or access events.

backup

Automatic backup events - see AdminBackup tab.

dongle

License dongle events.

harvester

Harvester status, job and error events.

sterr

Records system crash details.

stdout, main

Records system events.

document

These logs are stored in the document folder. Document Audit must be enabled, see Audit Log Settings.

Events and information about document edits and deletions are stored in the document audit logs. Sensitive information may be retained in the document audit logs, even if a document is deleted.

documentaccess

Document access events, including time of access, user, document ID, and the location the document was access from (such as collections, search results, or network node view).

documentdelete

Document deletion events, including the document ID.

document/edit

Sub-folder

documentedit-documentnumber

Document edit events, including details of the original and changed document content.
