Manage User Accounts in Sintelix

When you add a new user account to Sintelix, a single-use password activation token is generated. This needs to be provided to the user for the first time they log into Sintelix.

If using an email account as the user account, this emaisl the password activation token to the user automatically. Alternatively, you can provide the token to the user by other means. The token will be displayed on the screen at the end of the procedure once you’ve clicked Create User.

To create a user account in Sintelix:

1. On the Main Navigation Bar click Admin



2. On the Manage User Accounts tab click Create User Account
3. Enter the user’s user name
4. Enter the user’s email address (optional)

If you enter the user’s email address and an email account has been set up for Sintelix, you can send the password activation token to the user by email.

5. From the Privileges dropdown list, select the user role you want to assign. If you want to set up an account and assign privileges later, select No User Access.

6. By default, new user accounts do not have Administrator access to Sintelix. To give the user administrator access click No Admin Access. This text is changed to Admin Access.
7. Do one of the following:
• If you entered an email address and want to email the password activation token to the user, select Send Activation Token by Email option.
• If you want to send the password activation token to the user by another method, clear the check box.
8. Click Create User



A message confirms that the user account has been created and displays the user’s password activation token.

9. If you have not sent the activation token to the user by email, note the token.



10. Click Close

Once you have created a user account you can edit the user's email address and access privileges.

To edit a user's account:

1. On the Main Navigation Bar click Admin
2. On the Manage User Accounts tab, locate the user’s account.
3. Do one or more of the following:
• To change the user’s email address click the Edit icon beside their email address, enter the new address then click Change.
• To change the user’s access privileges select the user role from the dropdown list in the User Access column.
• To give the user administrator access click No Admin Access. This text is changed to Admin Access.

Once you have deleted a user’s account you cannot undo the action.

To delete a user's account:

1. On the Main Navigation Bar click Admin
2. On the Manage User Accounts tab, locate the user’s account.
3. Click the Delete icon beside the user’s record then click Delete User

The account is deleted.

To reset a user’s password manually:

1. On the Main Navigation Bar click Admin
2. On the Manage User Accounts tab, locate the user’s account.
3. Click Reset on the user's record



A message asks if you want to generate a password activation token.

4. Click OK
5. Note the password activation token and provide it to the user.



6. Click Close

To enable users to reset their own password you need to set up an email account for Sintelix and make sure each user’s email address has been saved in their user account.

For a user to reset their password they must:

1. Go to the Sintelix login screen then click Password Recovery
2. Enter their user name then click Continue.
3. Copy the activation token from the email that is sent to them.
4. Go to the Sintelix login screen and activate their account using the activation token (see Log in to Sintelix Logging in to Sintelix in the Sintelix User Guide).
