Documents Pane

Introduction

When you select a document to view, the document is displayed in the Document pane.

Access

Documents can be accessed from multiple locations, including Collections, Network Tables and Network Graphs (see Accessing documents).

The Document Pane layout is shown below:

Document Toolbar

Below are the options available from the Document pane toolbar.

Geolocations

Shows the number of geolocations found in the document.

Hover over the icon to view a list of the countries including the number of geolocations for each country.

Click on the top level or a country level to display the locations in a map pane.

Edit

Opens the Edit Documents panel.

You can edit the text content along with entities and links .

Tools

The Tools dropdown has the following options:

  • List Entities

  • Find Structures

  • Find Similar Documents

 List Entities

Opens a panel showing the entities and links in the document.

You can quickly jump from entities in the document using the entities list.

 Find Structures

The Document Structure finder can locate pieces of information within a document using queries that can detect elements via their physical location and/or the data they contain.

 Find Similar Documents

Quickly find documents that are similar. For example, if there are different versions of the same document with only minor variances.

You can use a sliding scale to adjust the level of similarity.

Document Source

The Document Source dropdown lists options for accessing the original source file. The options displayed depends on the configuration settings when the file was ingested.

Export

The Export dropdown has the following options:

  • XML Export

  • Word Export

 XML Export Downloads the XML file for the document.

 Word Export

Opens the Export to Word dialog to download the file in Word format. You can choose a template to apply to the Word document.

External Services

External Services can be configured to connect to different tools to be used with documents.

By default, Sintelix has been configured to provide open the document contents in Google Translate to be translated into English. Additional external services can be configured in Configurations - External Document Services For example, you may want to include translations into different languages.

When you select Google Translate, Google Translate is opened in a new tab with the document content translated into English.

Audit Log

If you have Administrator authority, the Audit Log button is displayed.

Click on the Audit Log button to view the audit events for this document.

Quick Access

The Quick Access pane has the following options:

Select to rename the document.
ID Displays the unique ID for the document.
Collection:

Displays the name of the Collection the document belongs to.

Click on the Collection name to open the document in the Collections tab.

Word Count Displays the number of words in the document.
Text Direction. Select to switch the text direction between left and right.

Text References

When checked, the text references are highlighted in the document.

Uncheck to view the document in plain text with the text reference not highlighted.

Structure Names

When selected, if a document has structure headings, the structure headings are displayed in the document.

For example, a harvested document may have structure headings created during harvesting.

Document Information

The Document Information is displayed in collapsed tables at the top of the document:

  • Ingestion Properties are created during the ingestion process when documents are added to Sintelix.

  • Document Properties

  • Document Tags

You can click on the plus symbol to expand the section.

Shortcut Menu

When you right click on an entity, the following shortcut menu is displayed.

The options are explained below:

Search In Collection

 

Text Reference Search Opens the Search pane and runs a query to find more entities of that type in all documents in the Collection.
Text Search Opens the Search pane and runs a query for the text, without limiting the search to entities of that type in all documents in the Collection.

Search In Document

 

Text Reference Search Opens the Search pane and runs a query to find more entities of that type in this document.
Text Search Opens the Search pane and runs a query for the text, without limiting the search to entities of that type in this document.
Harvest New Data  
Harvest Now

Harvest Now automatically sends a search query based on the text in the current node label to the Harvester and starts harvesting.

If the current entity is a URL, then Harvest Now automatically harvests just that URL location (rather than using the URL as a search query).

Requires the Harvester to have a default set in the Harvester Panel.
