What's New with Sintelix 7.8!
Welcome to Sintelx 7.8! (8 Mar 2024)
This release includes exciting improvements to Network Graph and Timeline visualisations and better interaction between Sintelix and i2 Analyst's Notebook!
This is on top of the powerful new features introduced with release 7.7.
We have also updated the Sintelix Chrome Extension (V2.0.22). Remember to check the updated extension has been installed in your browser to benefit from the improvements. See What's New with Sintelix Extension 2.0.22!
New Features
Network Visualisation
Force Layout
Arrange nodes naturally spread out from the most connected nodes.
Ring Layout
Arrange all nodes in one or more concentric rings. Selected nodes are arranged in an inner ring.
Multi-ring Layout
Arrange sets of connected nodes in separated ring layouts. Selected nodes are arranged in an inner ring.
Hierarchy Layout
Arrange connected nodes in a hierarchy starting with the most connected node or selected nodes.
Grouped Layout
Arrange the most connected nodes in a ring, with other connected nodes fanned outwards.
Tiled
Re-arrange the existing layout to tile un-connected nodes or groups and minimise gaps.
Map
Arrange nodes with geo-locations on a world map. Use options to arrange other connected nodes on the map.
Custom Library Security

Improvements
Network Timeline
You can now:
-
configure and save timeline view templates
-
assign a default timeline template to each node type
-
display node and links counts
-
display only linked nodes that are linked to nodes of interest
-
easily identify nodes by the different colour schemes.
You can create and save a Timeline Template, allowing you to quickly load different Timeline settings. See Timeline Templates.
You can manage these templates in Configurations > Configure Network Timeline Views, where you can rename, copy, export, import and delete Views.
In the Ontology Configuration, you can also set a Timeline Template as the default view for an entity node class.

Export to i2
Exporting to i2 is now easier than ever!
You can export directly into the anx file format quickly and easily with the new shortcut button added to the Networks menu.
You can configure the ANX File Export configuration to closely align the entities and links exported from Sintelix to those set-up within i2, taking across the node and link properties.
See Export to ANX for i2 Analyst's Notebook and ANX Network Export Configuration: i2 ANB.
More Entity Node Defaults
In Release 7.7, we introduced assigning default templates for the creation, edit, view and report forms for an entity node.
In Release 7.8, we have added even greater control, allowing you to:
-
assign a default Table View
-
assign a default Timeline Template
-
toggle between using a node's linked image or assigned icon when viewing a Network Graph.
Default Network View
You can now set the default entity node displayed when a Network is created. This is set in the Network Creation configuration.
See Network View Default Settings for more information.
Network Table Calculated Fields
As part of Apps, it is now possible to have calculated fields in a Network Table.
See Edit Table View Configuration for more information.
